With CFBA membership, farmers benefit from resources and support. When it comes to local municipal issues, CFBA's Government Relations Specialist Joan Nichols is available for member questions by phone. She is often a presence at town halls, public hearings, and at local meetings, and is called on to offer testimony at the state Capitol.
CFBA is the go-to organization when conference organizers are seeking an industry expert on farm issues. CFBA, along with the Department of Agriculture, helped organize a tour of farms for a training course for municipal wetlands agents. Mrs. Nichols was recently a featured speaker for the Connecticut Association of Zoning Enforcement Officers, offering her expertise on PA490, land use and on the changing face of agriculture.
No other agricultural organization fits the role as "The Voice of Connecticut Agriculture " like Connecticut Farm Bureau.
